Midheaven
The Midheaven, or Medium Coeli, is the highest point the ecliptic reaches at the moment of birth, and it marks the direction of career, reputation and public standing.
It is the top of the chart rather than a planet, and in most house systems it is also the tenth house cusp. Its opposite point, the Imum Coeli, describes home and roots.
Because it depends on the exact time and place, the Midheaven shares the birth-time sensitivity of the Ascendant.

Is the Midheaven always the 10th house cusp?
In quadrant systems such as Placidus, yes. In whole sign houses it can fall in another house, which is a feature rather than an error.
