Electional astrology
Electional astrology chooses the moment to begin something, reading a future chart forward instead of reading a past one back.
It is the mirror image of horary: the same rules, run in the other direction. The Moon carries most of the weight, because it is the fastest body and the one whose condition changes within a usable window, and the Ascendant and its ruler are fitted to the nature of the undertaking.
The classical cautions are narrow and worth keeping narrow: avoid a void-of-course Moon for a beginning, avoid the Moon applying to a malefic, and keep the significator of the matter free of the Sun's beams. An election describes a favourable condition, not a guaranteed outcome.
